Interview: blogger Gordon Cloud
Posted by Brady
This week's interview is with blogger Gordon Cloud, scribe of the blog titled Heavenly Heartburn. Enjoy the insightful answers of this Georgian pastor and blogger.
1.What are the main themes/subjects covered by your blog?
I write about theology, culture, current events and the humorous side of life.
2.What was your most popular blog post ever?
Probably the single most popular post was a story I wrote about squirrel-hunting with my two sons. The most popular theological post was a series I wrote about overcoming temptation.
3.What inspires you to write?
I love to write about the Bible, and the everday happenings of living seem to get the juices flowing.
4.Have you written any books?
Not yet, but I have a couple of ideas lurking between my ears.
5.If you were stranded on a deserted island, what books would you want with you?
I, of course, would want my Bible, some classic literature and maybe one called "Boat Building for Dummies".
6.What are some of your personal favorite blogs?
My brother has a great blog called Nephos. All of the blogs on my blogroll are by people who are a real blessing to me. Tim Challies has a nice blog as well.
7.What keeps you awake at night?
Usually indigestion or insomnia, but sometimes I get a sermon or writing idea that won't let me sleep until I work it out on paper. Also, if I think that someone I love is mad at me, it keep me awake.
8.If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
There are so many I would like to ask, but the first one would be, "Why do you love me the way you do?"
9.What is your “oak tree idea” (we define this as a positive idea that can change the world)?
Some would say this is idealistic and it certainly isn't original, but if every believer would take the time and effort to make one disciple a year,we could reach everyone in the world in a few years.
